Homelessness is defined as a lack of a secure place to live or the inability to stay in a place reasonably.
It’s a Human Right that
“Everyone is entitled to live without fear in a safe and warm environment within their own home”.

Those who would otherwise be homeless due to natural or man made disasters.
Extended hospital stays due to adjustments to their home
Refurbishment to their home
Emergency accommodation due to flood, fire, wind.
Homelesness has been recorded since the introduction of The Vagrancy Act 1824

The UK has the oldest, largest energy consuming and producer of Co2 emissions housing stock in Europe.
Thousands of our most vulnerable in our community contribute to excess summer and winter season deaths every year, dying in or contributed to their poor quality home.
Quality temporary accommodation for an individual, couple or family, able and disabled, young or old is a basic Human Right.
There are currently record numbers of families and individuals threatened with homelessness, homeless in our streets, in temporary accommodation and living in fuel poverty in the UK.
As mentioned in my presentation ” A brief history of homelessness”
The temporary accommodation is what the Blue Lantern Pilot Project is looking to develop at this stage to end homelessness in our towns and cities.
The aim of the pilot project is to live in over the course of a calendar year a temporary living accommodation, that does not exist today, that has an EPC rating A, transportable, off the grid, in a single unit and using solar energy with preferably a connection to the mains grid, {not to draw electricity off but to put excess electricity in}.
The water supply will be produced from a separate rain water harvesting system and there will be a separate sewage filtration system to re use the grey water produced during the trial.
During the 12 month period, energy, water, soil and air quality testing will be carried out and the practicality to live off the grid.
There are various temporary transportable sleeping accommodations available today but the Blue Lantern Pilot Project is looking to develop temporary living accommodation off the grid during summer and winter.
We aim to start the trial in 2025.
There are a number of landowners already interested in the project’s trial period but we are open to all other interested parties, including interested transportable accommodation manufacturers and rainwater harvesting and portable sewage systems manufacturers. For more information, please contact @bluelanternproject.uk .
The goal is to establish a temporary, transportable living accommodation for the homeless, fit for purpose in the 21st century and owned and run by their community.
That can be transported as a whole unit, dropped onto the ground and lived in from day one, then removed and replaced with permanent living accommodation, providing a home for life.
We in the communities have been constantly let down and strongly believe it will be the communities that will end this humanitarian travesty with the foundations of a quality community owned abode, that can not only comfortably house an individual but can also supply energy to a fellow individual in even worse need than themselves.
The cost savings from the reduced if not eradicated utility bills along with the various billions spent in funding care in our communities, can then be instantly put into equal quality care not only for the individual but to our most vulnerable going forward.

I have been a volunteer advocate for the homeless for over 8 years, certified in housing safety and construction, I believe this will be the foundation stone to ending homelessness, fuel poverty and poor housing in our towns, cities and beyond.
